Mike Coffin

Mike Coffin is a distinguished academic and researcher with extensive experience in marine geophysics and oceanography. Currently, Mike serves as a member of MFCJr, LLC, an adjunct scientist at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, and a research professor at the University of Maine. Previously, Mike held multiple prominent positions, including professor emeritus and executive director at the Institute for Marine and Antarctic Studies, and professor at the University of Southampton. With a Ph.D. in Geology from Columbia University, Mike has contributed significantly to the field through leadership roles such as director of research at the National Oceanography Centre and chair of the Science Planning Committee for the Integrated Ocean Drilling Program.
