Tara Zelano has extensive experience in education, currently serving as a Grade 8 Special Education teacher at Franklin Public Schools and as a Grade 6 teacher focusing on math, science, and social studies at Worcester County Public Schools since August 2023. Previously, Tara held a position as a 4th grade teacher in Northbridge Public Schools since June 2012, emphasizing common core curriculum and STEM education. Additional experience includes roles as a self-contained teacher for emotional and behavioral disorders and special education across various grade levels, beginning at Abby Kelley Foster Charter Public School in 1998. Tara holds a Master’s degree in Special Education from Lesley University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education/Regular Education from Fitchburg State University. A strong advocate for growth mindset principles, Tara has demonstrated effectiveness in enhancing student performance as indicated by DOE MCAS data throughout a diverse career spanning over two decades.
