Daniel Linzell

Daniel Linzell currently serves as the Bernard M. Gordon Dean of Engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute since October 2025. Prior to this role, Daniel held several key positions at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, including Associate Dean for Graduate & International Programs in the College of Engineering and Department Chair of the Civil Engineering Department. In addition, Daniel has experience as Director of the Division of Civil, Mechanical and Manufacturing Innovation at the National Science Foundation from June 2023 to August 2025, and has served as a professor at multiple institutions, including Penn State University and as a visiting professor at the University of Navarra. Daniel received a PhD and MSCE in Structural Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, as well as a BSCE in Civil Engineering from The Ohio State University.
