Workhouse Arts Center
Katie (So) Crooks currently serves as the Director of Museum and Visitor Experiences at Workhouse Arts Center, overseeing the Visual Arts, Visitor Services, and Museum teams since October 2022. Previously, Katie directed the Lucy Burns Museum and worked as a Librarian while also managing a handmade business specializing in custom pieces and sewn accessories. Notable past positions include serving as a Visual Arts Specialist at the U.S. Embassy in Beijing, where Katie managed the Visual Arts program within Mission China's Cultural Affairs department, and as the Senior Public Programs Coordinator at the Smithsonian American Art Museum, responsible for a variety of public programs. Katie has also contributed to academia as a faculty member teaching undergraduate art history courses. Katie holds a Master of Arts in Art History from The George Washington University and a Bachelor of Arts in Art History, Criticism, and Conservation from Cornell College.
