Marion Edwin

Marion Edwin has a diverse work experience spanning several decades. Marion is currently working as the Human Factors/Ergonomics Lead at WorkSafe New Zealand, where they focus on optimizing the fit between tasks, tools, and work environments to prevent discomfort and injuries.

Marion has also been a long-standing member of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society of New Zealand, holding various executive positions and contributing to conference committees. Marion'ssignificant contributions to the field led their to receive the NZES President's Award.

In their previous role at Optimise Ltd, Marion worked as an Ergonomist, collaborating with organizations across industries to prevent and manage discomfort and injury problems related to work tasks.

Additionally, Marion served as the Wellness Coordinator at Lakes District Health Board, where they implemented an ergonomics 'systems approach' to investigate and improve sick leave management processes.

Earlier in their career, Marion held multiple occupational therapy roles in District Health Boards and private organizations, specializing in vocational rehabilitation, chronic pain management, and neurology inpatient and community/vocational rehabilitation.

Throughout their career, Marion has consistently demonstrated their expertise in ergonomics and healthcare, making valuable contributions to the field.

Marion Edwin holds a Master of Ergonomics degree from Massey University, specializing in timber handling in sawmills. Prior to this, Marion attended Greymouth High School from 1979 to 1983. Marion then pursued a Diploma in Occupational Therapy from the Central Institute of Technology, Trentham, from 1984 to 1986.
