James Forsyth

Senior Programme Manager, Young Global Leaders at World Economic Forum

James Forsyth has a diverse work experience, with their most recent position being Community Lead for the Young Global Leaders at the World Economic Forum since April 2020. In this role, they have been part of a community of socially minded individuals who work towards creating positive change. Prior to this, they served as a Regional Manager for Asia and Lead for Climate & Environment for the Global Shapers Community at the World Economic Forum from November 2017 to April 2020. James was responsible for driving dialogue, action, and change among young people.

James also worked as a Project Specialist for Social Engagement at the World Economic Forum from February 2017 to November 2017. Additionally, they held the position of Specialist for Blended Finance and Sustainable Development Investment Partnership (SDIP) from April 2016 to February 2017. In this role, they led the Project Investment Review Group (PRG) to help bridge the financial gap in sustainable infrastructure investment.

Before joining the World Economic Forum, James worked at HSBC Private Bank as a Relationship Manager from 2009 to 2016. James also worked as a Funds Support Officer at HSBC Private Bank from September 2007 to August 2008.

Furthermore, James gained political experience as a Political Strategist and Field Organizer for Obama for America from March 2008 to 2009.

James Forsyth completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Entrepreneurship & Business Development from the University of Geneva from 2012 to 2014. Prior to that, they pursued a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Economics with a minor in Anthropology at Université de Montréal from 2004 to 2007. James also earned a Certificat de Maturité in Music from College Claparède between 1999 and 2003. Additionally, they obtained certification as a Climate Reality Leader from The Climate Reality Project in August 2019.
