Laia Barbarà is an accomplished professional in the field of climate change and aviation decarbonization, currently serving as the Industry Decarbonization Lead for Aviation at the World Economic Forum since September 2021. Prior experience includes roles as Climate Advisor in the Office of the Vice-Mayor at the Ajuntament de Barcelona and Associate Professor in the Department of Environmental Engineering at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. Laia Barbarà has also contributed as a Climate Technology Specialist for the United Nations and as an Energy Analyst at the Trade Commission of the Embassy of Spain in Chicago. Earlier in the career, Laia Barbarà worked as an Engineer at Iberia. Academic qualifications include a PhD in Climate Change Mitigation and an MEng in Aerospace Engineering from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, along with a Master of International Business from ICEX-CECO.
