Joan Atlin

Joan Atlin has extensive experience in the field of strategy, policy, and research. Joan is currently the Director of Strategy, Policy, and Research at World Education Services since January 2019. Prior to this, they served as the President of Atlin Consulting since 2013. Before that, they held various roles at Toronto Region Immigrant Employment Council (TRIEC) from September 2008 to August 2013, including the position of Executive Director (interim) and Director of Programs. Joan also worked at ACCES Employment as the Manager of Engineering Connections from May 2006 to August 2007. Previous roles include Senior Program and Policy Consultant at Ontario Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration (2005-2006), Executive Director at Association of International Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (2001-2005), Program Coordinator at Skills for Change (1998-2000), Coordinator and Chair at Union of Needletrades, Industrial and Textile Employees (UNITE) (1993-1997), Provincial Coordinator at Global Education Centres of Ontario (1992-1993), and Project Officer at Ontario Council for International Cooperation (1992-1993).

Joan Atlin completed their education with a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Political Science from York University in 1989. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in International Development and Political Studies from the University of Guelph in 1986. Additionally, Joan also pursued coursework in Counselling Psychology at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education of the University of Toronto, but the start and end years for this program are not provided.
