Francesca Ciardi

Francesca Ciardi serves as the Regional Programme Policy & Social Protection Officer at the World Food Programme since January 2023, providing strategic and technical support to country offices across multiple Asian and Central Asian nations. With a career at the World Food Programme beginning in 2016, Francesca has held roles including Emergency Management Specialist and Programme Policy Officer, focusing on humanitarian responses during emergencies and strengthening social protection systems in 22 countries. Previous experience includes coordinating food security interventions in Lebanon, managing emergency preparedness initiatives, and producing content for the United Nations' Department of Public Information. Francesca holds a Master’s Degree in Diplomacy and International Relations from Lancaster University and a Bachelor's Degree in Digital Communication and Media from the University of Greenwich.
