Shafiq Yari has extensive experience in humanitarian operations and program management, currently serving as a Programme Policy Officer at the World Food Programme since December 2007. Key responsibilities include coordinating the Programme and Policy Strategic Workforce Planning project and supporting learning initiatives. Previous roles at WFP include acting Head of Operation in Nigeria, where Shafiq managed partnerships and operational challenges, and Head of Programme for Syria, overseeing humanitarian assistance for vulnerable populations. Prior to WFP, Shafiq served as Programme Director at RRAA, managing project design and assessments, and held various managerial and medical positions in different organizations, including Sardar Mohammad Dawood Khan Hospital and ACF. Shafiq holds a Master's degree in International Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid and a Doctor of Medicine from Kabul University of Medical Sciences.
