Dana Itani is a seasoned microbiology consultant currently affiliated with the World Health Organization since 2019, providing expertise in antimicrobial resistance and infection prevention within the Division of Communicable Diseases. In addition, Dana holds multiple roles, including Antimicrobial Resistance Lead at CRDF Global and AMR Centre Coordinator at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Dana's academic background includes a Doctor of Philosophy in Infectious & Tropical Diseases and multiple degrees in microbiology and biology from prestigious institutions. Dana's research experience includes projects on antimicrobial drug discovery and serves as a vital resource for enhancing national AMR surveillance systems in the Eastern Mediterranean region.
