Daniel Ngamije Madandi

Director A.i. Malaria & Neglected Tropical Diseases Department at World Health Organization

Daniel Ngamije Madandi serves as the Director of the Global Malaria Programme at the World Health Organization since April 2023. Prior to this role, Daniel held the position of Minister of Health at the Ministry of Health from February 2020 to November 2022 and worked as the National Programme Officer for Malaria and Neglected Tropical Diseases at the World Health Organization from June 2018 to February 2020. Daniel’s experience in the Ministry of Health also includes roles as Coordinator of the Project Implementation Unit for partner-funded programmes and Director of the National Malaria Control Programme from January 2005 to June 2017. Daniel earned a Bachelor's degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Kinshasa and a Master's degree in Public Health from Université libre de Bruxelles.
