Rob Theis is a General Partner, Chief Investment Officer at World Innovation Lab. Rob has over 25 years of experience in the technology industry as an investor and executive.

Rob began their career in 1983 as a product manager at SGI. Rob then moved to Sun Microsystems in 1986, where they were a managing director for 10 years. In 1996, they joined NEON as the Executive Vice President/COO. Rob was with NEON until it was acquired by IBM in 2000.

After the NEON acquisition, Rob became a General Partner at Doll Capital Management (DCM Ventures). Rob was with DCM for 8 years, during which time they helped lead investments in over 20 companies. Some notable investments during their time at DCM include Fortinet, PGP Corporation, VanceInfo, Bill.com, Mobileum, SigFig.

In 2008, Rob joined Scale Venture Partners as a Managing Director. Rob was with Scale for 7 years and lead investments in companies such as Hubspot, RingCentral, DocuSign, BrightRoll, PeopleMatter, Vitrue.

Rob is currently a General Partner, Chief Investment Officer at World Innovation Lab, where they focus on investments in early stage companies in the US and Asia. His responsibilities includes managing the Fund of Funds business and investments in Auth0, Automation Anywhere, Aisera, TransferWise, BirdEye, RZero, Workstream, SendBird, Gorgias, Rippling, TrueWork, Digital Shadows.

Rob Theis attended the University of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, where they earned a bachelor's degree in economics/computer science.
