JOB SUMMARY - The Maintenance Manager is responsible for maintaining the mechanical integrity of the refinery facility by ensuring proper preventive and corrective maintenance is carried out in a timely manner. This role is responsible for implementing key project work to support continuous improvement.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESDESCRIPTION - Plans and executes maintenance related work in the refinery, including preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance and project work, utilizing in-house and contract personnel.  Maintains mechanical integrity of facility by ensuring required preventive maintenance and inspections are performed timely.  Retains and organizes records of preventive maintenance, inspections and key corrective maintenance activities.  Manages the maintenance team and oversees their training and development.  Develops and implements staffing plans to ensure adequate coverage for maintenance operations.  Maintains effective communication with other departments, managers, and employees to ensure alignment and coordination of maintenance activities with overall business objectives.  Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures, including those related to employee conduct, performance, and attendance.  Maintains accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, maintenance logs, and inventory records.  OTHER FUNCTIONSPerforms other related duties as assigned.  

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES - SUPERVISE POSITIONSMaintenance Supervisor, Maintenance Coordinator, Electrician, Instrument Technician, and Maintenance Technician.

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE5REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS - Up to one year of specialized or technical training beyond high school.  5 years of experience in Supervisory capacity in refinery-type maintenance field.  

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES - Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology.  Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.  Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.  Skill in identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.  Skill in developed capacities used to design, set-up, operate, and correct malfunctions involving application of machines or technological systems.  Skill in watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.  Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.  Ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong.  Ability to communicate information and ideas in writing and speaking effectively and clearly.
