Shashank P. Kumar

Dispute Settlement Lawyer at World Trade Organization

Shashank P. Kumar has extensive experience in the field of international law. Shashank P. worked as a Dispute Settlement Lawyer for the World Trade Organization (WTO) for five years, where they advised and assisted the Appellate Body in settling trade disputes between countries. Shashank P. also served as a Legal Adviser for the Iran-United States Claims Tribunal and as a Judicial Fellow at the International Court of Justice (ICJ). Additionally, they worked as a Visiting Lecturer at the National Law University, Jodhpur, where they delivered lectures on public international law. Shashank P. has also held roles as an Associate (Legal Research) at the Center for WTO Studies, Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, and as a Legal Intern at the Chambers of Fali S. Nariman, SC and the Competition Commission of India. Shashank P. started their career as a Trainee-clerk at the Supreme Court of India and worked as a South Asia Fellow at the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI).

Shashank P. Kumar completed their LL.M. degree in International Law at Yale Law School from 2010 to 2011. Prior to that, they pursued a B.Sc., LL.B. (Hons.) degree specializing in International Trade and Investment Law at National Law University, Jodhpur, from 2005 to 2010. Additionally, in July 2010, they obtained the certification of Advocate from the Bar Council of Delhi.
