Tinotenda Mataire has a diverse range of work experience in the field of economic research and statistics. They began their career with UNCTAD in 2021, where they conducted research on various topics such as LDCs in the AfCFTA and digital financial inclusion. They also assisted with preparing training material and workshops on trade in services and illicit financial flows.
In 2022, Tinotenda worked as a Research Associate at the SADC Secretariat, where they reviewed the implementation of national trade policies and national development plans in the SADC-EU EPA countries. They analyzed tariff profiles, market dynamics, export potential, utilization of rules of origin, preference erosion, trade remedies, and development cooperation.
