Joseph Marin is currently the Lead Programmer at Worldspark Studios. Prior to that, they worked as a programmer at Sparta Games from February 2015 to October 2017, where they developed many of the systems within Unreal Engine 4 using C++ and Blueprints. This included intuitive opponent AI, NPC AI, NPC vs NPC combat, trap systems, damage systems, upgrading systems, grid systems, stat-keeping systems, and additional nodes and tools for level designer use. Joseph also aided in development of networking features for online player vs player gameplay.
From March 2015 to April 2016, Marin worked as the Lead Game Designer at 3D-Brothers, where they designed the majority of gameplay elements for a 3D survival-horror project. This included the mechanics for a dual-character system, NPC mechanics and behavior, stealth mechanics, partner AI behavior, and oversaw overall game flow. In addition, they aided in the programming of several of these mechanics and tools within the Unity engine.
Marin has also held the position of Lead Programmer at Cracker Jack Games LLC from January 2013 to September 2016, and Lead Programmer and Writer at Galaxy Interactive from March 2012 to December 2016.
Joseph Marin has a degree in Game and Interactive Media Design from the University of Advancing Technology. Joseph also has a degree in Computer Programming from DeVry University Phoenix, AZ. Their Bachelor of Arts (BA) is in English from American Public University System.
