Real World Evidence Strategy Lead at Worldwide Clinical Trials

Sean Kennedy has extensive work experience in the field of clinical research and real-world evidence. Sean currently serves as the Real World Evidence Strategy Lead at Worldwide Clinical Trials since March 2022. Prior to this, Sean was the Global Head of Real World Evidence at ICON plc from July 2019 to February 2022. Sean also worked as a Clinical Operations Lead at Bristol-Myers Squibb in May 2019 and as an Executive Director/Principal Real World Late Phase at Syneos Health (previously INC Research/inVentiv Health) from November 2014 to July 2018. Sean also held positions at PPD as the Senior Director of Global Late Stage Research from January 2011 to October 2014, and at Covance as the Senior Director of Global Registries and Observational Studies, Associate Director Data Management, Senior Manager of Late Stage Developmental Services, and Clinical Data Manager for Periapproval Services from 1999 to 2010.

In addition to their roles in the private sector, Sean also has military experience. Sean served in the US Army as a Major in Battalion Staff from December 2003 to March 2005 during Operation Iraqi Freedom II. Sean also served as a Lieutenant and Field Artillery Officer in a nuclear-capable battalion based in Baumholder, Germany from June 1990 to December 1993.

Sean Kennedy holds a BA in Biophysics from The Johns Hopkins University, which they completed from 1986 to 1990. Sean later attended The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine from 1994 to 1997, where they obtained their MPH in Genetic Epidemiology and Biostatistics.
