M Duane Nellis

M Duane Nellis is an experienced academic leader currently serving as President Emeritus and Trustee Professor at Ohio University since 2017. Prior roles include President of Texas Tech University from 2013 to 2016, President of the University of Idaho from 2009 to 2013, and President of Kansas State University from 2004 to 2009. Nellis also held the position of Provost and Senior Vice President at West Virginia University from 1997 to 2004 and served as Dean prior to that. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy and a Master's degree in Geography from Oregon State University, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Earth Sciences/Geography from Montana State University-Bozeman.
