TEAM Woven City is a fully connected ecosystem to be built at the base of Mt. Fuji in Japan. It is envisioned as a ‘living laboratory’ and ‘ever-evolving,’ incorporating different types of the latest technologies. At the same time, it is also ‘human-centric,’ that is, it is expected to keep people safe and comfortable. 

The Test Course Ops System team develops the systems to support the entire city operations. The mission of the team is that we will maximize the efficiency of city operation through making operational policy and developing Ops systems with low-cost by using commercial off-the-shelf. Also, we will contribute to improve the performance and quality of service development to promote rapid cycles of DevOps with high quality by visualizing measurements.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR We are looking for an experienced Program Manager. “Test Course Ops System” needs to support the entire Woven City Operation. You will be in charge of a portfolio of complex, versatile projects for the entire product  lifecycle. You will work with partners to define requirements, set high-level schedules and milestones, identify risks, lead the team to design/develop “Test Course Ops System” and coordinate with cross-functional partners both within the company and externally. You will apply Agile methods and best practices to maximize the velocity of your projects and meet customer needs. You are responsible for leading several projects and delivering the solutions to support and stabilize Woven City Operation with the team.

You will report to the lead of function and the workstyle is hybrid (office and remote).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage several projects and lead the team with the manager’s support to deliver multiple solutions to support Woven City Operation throughout the entire system lifecycle.
  • Make a project plan and define high-level requirements, project scope, and operational policy and rules with the manager’s support.
  • Work with partners to define requirements, set high-level schedules and milestones, identify risks, priority and communicate with cross-functional partners both across the company and externally with the manager’s support.
  • Do everything you need to succeed by considering the balance of cost, speed, flexibility and quality.
  • Responsible for the success of the cross-functional task force projects in charge with the manager’s support.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of leading or managing new product / service development projects as a Program Manager.
  • Experience a part of the system development project lifecycle, especially for Post-Production/System Operation phase.
  • A natural collaborator with a win-win drive who can facilitate productive conflict, creating outcomes that magnify input exponentially for all parties involved.
  • Good verbal and written presentation skill in business level English and Japanese language.
  • A certain range of technical experience regarding mid-large-scale software development, especially for system operation / DevOps solutions.

NICE TO HAVES:

  • Patience in dealing with different cultures / languages ​​and different decision-making mechanisms and logic.
  • Good project management with sense of urgency to complete transactions.
  • Demonstrated professional experience in mid orlarge-scale program management, ideally in digital transformation, AI implication, IoT, Smart-city, Smart-store, etc.
  • Enterprise software development experience and knowledge in Java/C#/C++/C/ (or equivalent languages for mission-critical system)
  • Experience of development of IoT service product or big data platform or AI-based learning platform
