Hidekazu Oki has a diverse work experience, starting with their current role as a Senior Security Engineer at Woven by Toyota. Prior to this, they held the same position at KYOCERA from July 2020 to February 2023, where they specialized in simulation and optimization technologies for alternative energy systems and studied quantum computing algorithms and fundamentals. Hidekazu also served as a part-time internal consultant for automotive cyber-security technologies at KYOCERA. Before that, they worked as an Assistant Chief Engineer at Honda Motors in April 2020 and at Honda R&D from July 2017 to March 2020.
Before moving to the automotive industry, Hidekazu worked at DNP as an Expert from April 2012 to June 2017, specializing in software development and research in the field of Smart Card Security. Hidekazu also gained further expertise in the security field while working as a Research Scientist at the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) from April 2010 to March 2012, where they focused on the security of smart cards, tamper-resistance of cryptographic modules, and side-channel analysis techniques.
Hidekazu began their career as a Software Engineer at Dai Nippon Printing Co., Ltd. from April 2003 to March 2010, where they were involved in smart card software design, development, and testing. Hidekazu also conducted research on the effectiveness of side-channel analysis techniques and developed countermeasures against such techniques. Additionally, they worked on prototyping projects for DRM systems utilizing smart cards.
Furthermore, Hidekazu gained experience as a part-time intern at Princeton Satellite Systems in 2000, a summer intern in software testing at Hitachi Telecom, Ltd. in 1999, and as a Teaching Assistant at Princeton University from September 1997 to May 1999, where they assisted students with their computer science projects and provided guidance on algorithm design and programming in C and Assembly language.

Hidekazu attended Menlo School from 1992 to 1996, where they obtained their high school diploma.
From 1996 to 2000, they pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science at Princeton University.
After completing their undergraduate studies, they continued their education at Princeton University and obtained a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering - Computer Engineering from 2001 to 2002.
In addition to their formal education, Hidekazu Oki also obtained several certifications. In 2012, they completed the "Cryptography I" course offered by Coursera. In 2013, they completed two more courses: "Heterogeneous Parallel Programming" and "Machine Learning," both also offered by Coursera.
