Software Engineer For Self-driving Car at Woven Planet Holdings

Hotsuyuki Kawanishi has a diverse work experience in the field of software engineering. Hotsuyuki started their career in 2017 as a Software Engineer for Web at Cultural Vistas, where they debugged and added features to a web app in a multicultural and English-speaking environment. In 2020, they joined Kanazawa University as a Research Scientist at the Self-Driving Car Lab, where they developed perception and path-planning features that included detecting speed bumps through Computer Vision techniques. Hotsuyuki successfully delivered a demonstration of this technology. Currently, they are working at Woven by Toyota as a Software Engineer for Self-Driving Car. Here, they have contributed to the prediction and path-planning module, designing and implementing a prediction evaluator that utilizes space-efficient data structures to enhance scalability.

Hotsuyuki Kawanishi began their education journey in 2010 at Numazu National College of Technology, where they pursued a degree in Computer Science. They successfully completed their Associate's degree in this field in 2015. Subsequently, from 2015 to 2017, Hotsuyuki attended Chiba University, where they studied Mechanical Engineering and obtained their Bachelor's degree. Building upon their knowledge in engineering, Hotsuyuki pursued further studies at Kanazawa University from 2018 to 2020. During this time, they specialized in Robotics and earned a Master's degree.
