Koichi Nishiwaki

Koichi Nishiwaki has extensive experience in robotics research and development. Koichi is currently working as a Principal Robotics Researcher at Woven Planet Holdings since August 2021. Prior to this, they served as a Researcher at Preferred Networks, Inc. from April 2019 to July 2021. Koichi also held the position of Staff Robotics Engineer at Google from February 2014 to March 2019. Before their tenure at Google, they worked as a Technical Advisor and Staff Robotics Engineer at SCHAFT from July 2013 to January 2014. In addition, they have research experience at the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) as a Research Scientist and Senior Research Scientist from April 2004 to December 2013. Starting their career, they served as an Assistant Professor at the University of Tokyo from April 2002 to March 2004.

Koichi Nishiwaki completed their Ph.D. in Mechano-Informatics from the Graduate School of Engineering at The University of Tokyo. Koichi successfully completed this degree in 2002.
