Masaki Yamada has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Masaki is currently working as a Staff Engineer at Woven by Toyota since August 2021. Prior to this, they held the role of Project Manager at Toyota Motor Corporation starting from January 2017. In this role, they led mobility management projects and conducted MaaS studies.

Before that, Masaki worked at Toyota Motor Corporation for a long tenure starting from April 1998. During this period, they held various positions and responsibilities including Project Manager in the R&D Management Division. In this role, they were involved in strategy planning at the corporate level and reported to executives with analysis and recommended actions.

Masaki also led a next-generation urban transport project called "Ha:mo", which involved ultra-compact EV car-sharing combined with local public transport. This project was initiated in October 2012 and started service in Japan (Toyota city), and later expanded to Grenoble, France. Masaki also worked as an Assistant Manager in the Technical Administrative Division and the Chassis Engineering Department, where they were involved in strategic planning, global R&D organization development, and brake system design and project management for pickup trucks and SUVs.

Earlier in their career, Masaki worked as an Engineer in the Control System Engineering Department and the Chassis Engineering Department. In these roles, they developed control brake systems and various parts such as suspension, tire, and new material and structure for cost reductions worth $5 million. Masaki holds a Corporate-sponsored MBA and completed their MBA studies while working for Toyota Motor Corporation from June 2008 to May 2010.

Masaki Yamada attended The University of Tokyo from 1991 to 1998, where they received a Master's degree in Engineering. Later on, they pursued further education at UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School from 2008 to 2010, earning an MBA with a specialization in Business. In 2009, Masaki also took part in an exchange program at China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) to gain additional knowledge in the field of Business. Additionally, in the same year, they participated in a Summer Program at the University of Cologne, focusing on Business studies.
