Thor Lewis

VP of User Experience at Woven Planet Holdings

Thor Lewis is the Vice President of User Experience at Woven Planet Holdings*, responsible for the end-to-end user experience. He is a strong advocate of the user-centered design approach and data-driven design.

Before TRI-AD, Thor was the Director of User Experience at Silicon Valley’s Toyota Research Institute (TRI), where he led the UX design of the Guardian and Chauffeur systems. While at TRI, he saw the need for a more unified design system across Toyota and spearheaded the creation of the Toyota Design System, uniting UX groups across the company in a global effort.

Prior to Toyota, Thor spent ten years at Google working in the UX capacity on various R&D projects spanning robotics, 3D scanning, sensor fusion and virtual reality. He holds an engineering degree with distinction in Computer Science and Fine Art from the University of Victoria.

When he is not designing futuristic interfaces, Thor can be found quietly inventing in his workshop or surfing the waves of the Pacific. He is also Canadian and, of course, sports a beard.
