Shelly Ranus has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over several positions and roles. Shelly began their career at Krukowski & Costello, SC as an Associate Attorney and later became a Partner, specializing in employment law and labor relations. From 1999 to 2006, they worked as a Partner/Of Counsel at Gonzalez, Saggio & Harlan, LLP, where they focused on employment law and labor relations practice, including litigation, client counseling, and workplace training.

In 2007, Shelly joined Starbucks Coffee Company as a Director and Corporate Counsel, where they provided legal counsel and support for multiple business units. Shelly managed a high volume of employment litigation cases, including class actions, and supervised a team of direct reports and outside legal counsel. From 2015 to 2016, they served as the Director of EO Initiatives, leading the team responsible for advancing inclusion, diversity, equal employment opportunities, and accessibility.

Shelly's role at Starbucks progressed over the years, and they held positions such as Director, Senior Counsel and Director, Assistant General Counsel, Brand Protection. In these roles, they provided expert legal counsel on employment law, labor relations, and human resource practices. Shelly also managed extensive litigation portfolios and served as a legal business partner on cross-functional project teams.

Currently, Shelly is the Acting Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer and Vice President, AGC, Brand Protection at Starbucks Coffee Company. Their responsibilities include overseeing compliance and ethics initiatives while driving growth and support for the company's strategic initiatives within the Brand Protection function.

Shelly Ranus holds a JD degree from Marquette University Law School and a BA degree in Political Science from the University of Pittsburgh. Shelly is a licensed attorney and a member of the Washington State Bar Association, the State Bar of Wisconsin, and the Pennsylvania Bar Association (non-active).
