Gilbert Baez

Gilbert Baez is an experienced news professional with a diverse background in broadcasting and media management. Currently serving as a News Anchor at WZFX (FOXY 99 FM) since September 2014, Gilbert also works as a TV News Reporter for WRAL since January 2008. As the President of Supermix Media, LLC, established in January 1981, Gilbert oversees the company's HD videography services for various events. Notably, Gilbert held positions as a Weather Anchor and TV News Reporter at ABC 11 Eyewitness News from January 1996 to January 2013 and as a General Assignment Reporter and Bureau Chief at WRAL-TV from January 1989 to January 1995. Gilbert's earlier experience includes roles in radio sales, news directing, and production at Beasley Broadcast Group from January 1986 to January 2006. Additionally, Gilbert served as an Adjunct Professor in the Mass Communications Department at Campbell University from 1990 to 2005, teaching various media courses. Gilbert holds a Bachelor's degree in English Radio/TV Broadcasting from Central State University and completed the U.S. Army Ranger School in 1977.
