Katie R.

Katie R. has a diverse range of work experience. Their most recent role is as a Project Director at WRTHY, a social impact agency. In this position, they are leading work for a high-profile girls' education NGO client to support their public campaigning strategy.

Before that, Katie worked with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for Congress. Katie was a member of the Brand & Digital Media Team from September to November of 2022. Prior to that, they served as a Digital Content Consultant from March 2021 to August 2022.

Katie also has a strong background in nonprofit work. Katie worked at She's the First, where they held various roles over the years. From April 2018 to August 2022, they served as the Director of Strategic Partnerships. In this role, they focused on building partnerships to support the organization's mission. From September 2013 to March 2018, they were the Programs Manager, overseeing chapter networks and creating campaign toolkits and educational resources. Katie started their journey with the organization as a Volunteer & Intern from December 2009 to September 2013.

In addition to their nonprofit experience, Katie has also been involved in community initiatives. Katie served as the Astoria at Home Cookbook - Fundraising Project Lead at the Astoria Mutual Aid Network from April 2020 to June 2022. In this role, they organized a digital cookbook project to raise funds for the community. Katie contributed to the project by providing strategy, project management, community outreach, copy editing, social media/press promotion, and recipe testing.

Katie has also participated in public service through roles such as a Poll Worker at the Board of Elections - City of New York from June 2018 to June 2022.

Lastly, Katie gained valuable skills and experiences from their part-time job at Nama Sushi Bar Bearden. From August 2010 to September 2013, they worked as a Server & Social Media Captain, where they learned about sushi traditions, multitasking, problem-solving, digital marketing strategy, customer service, collaboration, and teamwork.

Katie R. attended the University of Tennessee, Knoxville from 2008 to 2012. There, they pursued a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Global Studies and Political Science.
