Julia Avant

Julia Avant is an accomplished news media professional with extensive experience in broadcasting. Currently serving as an anchor and reporter at WSFA 12 News since July 2022, Julia previously held positions as a news anchor at WZDX and as a reporter intern at WVUA 23, where responsibilities included gathering stories, conducting interviews, and producing news packages. In addition to journalism roles, Julia has served as a CAMP leader, facilitating discussions for high school students interested in media, and worked as a marketing specialist at Blo Go. Julia's leadership skills were further demonstrated as the Panhellenic Affairs Vice President for Gamma Phi Beta International Sorority, where substantial increases in community involvement were achieved. Julia holds a Bachelor's degree in News Media and Dance from The University of Alabama.
