Carlos Vazquez

Chief Of Staff (cos) at WuXi Advanced Therapies

Carlos Vazquez has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Carlos first worked at Lockheed Martin for 14 years, where they held the role of Risk/Opportunity Management - Subject Matter Expert. In this position, they led a team of Risk Managers and served as the lead instructor for the Risk/Opportunity Management course. Carlos also participated in proposal efforts for various defense programs.

After leaving Lockheed Martin, Carlos joined Roche as a Site Risk Manager. Here, they led a cross-functional team to integrate risk management tools and processes, while also developing Business Continuity Management. Carlos managed a portfolio of business improvement and risk mitigation projects, as well as the development and tracking of strategic goals and business objectives.

Carlos then transitioned to WuXi Advanced Therapies, where they held several roles. Carlos first served as a Value Stream Manager, before being promoted to Manager Visual Management. In June 2020, they became a Sr. Manager Technical Operations, where they managed a team of employees responsible for investigating non-conforming events and worked cross-functionally with various teams. Carlos successfully integrated the Technical Operations team into the Business Excellence with no loss in productivity. Currently, Carlos holds the position of Chief of Staff (CoS).

In addition to their civilian work, Carlos is also a member of the United States Army Reserve. Carlos has held the roles of 1SG and Operations NCOIC, utilizing their leadership and operational skills.

Carlos Vazquez's education history began in 1993 when they enrolled at The College of New Jersey. Carlos pursued a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Industrial Engineering and completed their studies in 1999. Carlos then furthered their education by attending Stevens Institute of Technology from 2006 to 2009. During this time, they earned a Master's degree in Project Management.

In addition to their formal education, Carlos also obtained several certifications. In November 2019, they received a Certification in Business Analytics: From Data to Insights from The Wharton School. In April 2021, Carlos completed a Leadership Development Certificate from Penn State University. More recently, in July 2021, they acquired the "Become a Chief of Staff with Brian Rumao" certification from LinkedIn.
