Sean Chen

Sean Chen, Ph.D. has a wealth of experience in the field of chemistry and biology. Sean currently serves as the Business Development Director of WuXi Discovery Services at WuXi AppTec, where they support clients in their research efforts and advances programs from target through preclinical selection and beyond. Prior to this, they worked as the Senior Director of BD/PM at PharmaBlock Sciences, Inc., providing innovative chemistry services to pharmaceutical and biotech companies. Sean also held the position of Director of BD & PM at Laviana, a chemistry CRO & CMO company, where they managed teams in China and worked closely with clients in the US. Earlier in their career, Sean worked as a Medicinal Chemist at Bristol-Myers Squibb, contributing significantly to multiple research projects and discovering new drug candidates. Sean also gained experience as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Harvard University, where they developed a new synthetic strategy and demonstrated the beneficial effect of certain chemicals in coupling reactions.

Sean Chen, Ph.D. obtained their Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Pennsylvania, completing their studies between 1991 and 1996.
