Hana Nakamura has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning multiple industries. Hana is currently working as an Art Director at W. W. Norton & Company, Inc. since June 2021. Prior to this, Hana was the founder and principal of "my c.o.a.", a boutique bespoke clothing stencil & silkscreen company specializing in children's wear.
Hana also has experience working at ABRAMS, where they served as an Associate Art Director for various imprints such as Appleseed & Amulet, Abrams Noterie, and Calendars. In these roles, they were responsible for art direction, design management, and overall creative direction. Hana collaborated with authors, artists, and brands to create gift-worthy paper goods and managed the design process from concept to production.
Before their time at ABRAMS, Hana worked as an Art Director at Mucca Design, an award-winning branding firm. Hana was involved in brainstorming, concept development, visual brand positioning, and creating consistent brand assets for various clients.
Additionally, Hana has experience as a stock photographer at Glasshouse Images, a proofreader at Barnes & Noble, a fact checker at Seed Media Group, and an intern at Megaphone (the Office of Feltron). Hana also worked as a creative associate at Glasshouse Images, where they managed the image archive, handled image database, and conducted photo research.

Hana Nakamura began their education at the United Nations International School in 1984, where they studied until 1991. Following this, they attended Stuyvesant High School from 1992 to 1996. After graduating from high school, Hana went on to pursue their Bachelor's degree in Asian Studies at Vassar College, completing their undergraduate education from 1997 to 2001.
