The Cloud System Administrator provides support for implementation and trouble shooting and maintenance on large clusters.
Capabilities
- Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems
- Manage IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems
- Provide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.
- Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems
- Provide support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers
- Provide support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and remains involved in the resolution process
- Configure and manage UNIX and Windows operating systems and installs/loads operating system software, troubleshoots, maintains integrity and configures network components along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance
Required Qualifications
- An active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph is required.
- Three (3) years of relevant experience as a systems administrator is required.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics is required.
- Three (3) additional years of experience can be considered in lieu of degree.
- Hadoop/Cloud System Administrator Certification or comparable Cloud System/Service Certification is required.
Desired Technical Skills
- Advanced knowledge of SSH tunneling and protocols including the implementation of dynamic SOCKS proxies as well as other ssh-based utilities, including rysn, pdsh, pdcp, and WinSCP.
- Basic understanding of low level network concepts including vlans, port channel bonding and layer2/layer 3 switch interactions.
- Familiarity with software load balancers for large scale webservice implementations including haproxy and nginx.
- Experience with Kubernetes orchestration services and Docker images.
- Experience with log aggregation and search tools including ElasticSearch, logstatsh, filebeats, Grafana, and rsyslog.
