Bhavesh Mistry

Regional Lead Middle East & Africa, Project Taara at X, the moonshot factory

Bhavesh Mistry has a diverse work experience in the technology and telecommunications industry. Bhavesh has held various leadership roles and consulting positions at different companies.

In 2005, Mistry joined Kenya Data Networks, where they served as Chief Technical Officer until 2009. Bhavesh then took on the role of Chief Operating Officer - Technology & Products until 2010.

From 2010 to 2012, Mistry worked as the Chief Catalyst & Lead Consultant at Plexus Group Limited, where they contributed to the technical design and business case development for metro fiber infrastructure projects.

In 2012, Mistry joined Google and held several roles within the Project Link team. Bhavesh served as a Strategy and Operations Associate, leading the deployment of metro fiber and WiFi networks in Uganda. Bhavesh also contributed to the expansion of fiber infrastructure in countries like Ghana and the development of business cases for other African nations. Later, Mistry became the Strategy and Operations Principal, overseeing the spinoff of Project Link into an independent fiber infrastructure business.

In 2017, Mistry joined CSquared as the Group CTIO & Acting CEO. Bhavesh played a crucial role in the smooth transition of Project Link from Google to CSquared and was responsible for overseeing ICT migration and drafting HR and finance policies.

From 2019 onwards, Mistry took on consulting roles in different organizations. Bhavesh worked as a VP of Technology & Innovation at BaltonCP, a Director Rollout Kenya at PAIX Data Centres, and an Advisor at X, the moonshot factory, where they had regional leadership responsibilities for projects in Africa and the Middle East.

Bhavesh Mistry completed their education chronologically as follows:

From 2000 to 2002, they attended the University of Greenwich for their BSc (Hons) degree in Computing.

In 2002, they enrolled in the University of Kent and completed their MSc degree in Networks & Distributed Systems by 2003.

Lastly, from 2006 to 2010, Bhavesh pursued an MBA with a Specialism in Strategic Planning at the Edinburgh Business School, Heriot-Watt University.
