Emma Chee

Emma Chee has a diverse work experience in software engineering, frontend development, user experience design, and tutoring. Emma currently holds the position of Principal Software Engineer at xDesign. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Unity and as a Senior Frontend Developer at xDesign. Emma has also worked at Expert360 as a Software Engineer and Front-End Chapter Lead, where they were responsible for maintaining FE infrastructure, updating documentation, mentoring the team, and building a design system. Emma gained experience in frontend web development as a Front-End Web Developer at Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) and Invisible Artists. Emma also worked as an Interaction Designer at Small Multiples and as a Specialist at Apple Retail. Additionally, they served as a Tutor for Human Computer Experience Design at the University of Sydney and as a Content Coordinator/Helpdesk at The Web Showroom.

Emma Chee attended the University of Sydney from 2007 to 2011, where they studied Design Computing with a focus on Web Design, Animation, 3D Modelling, Interaction Design, Digital Imaging, and User Interaction Design. In 2009 and 2010, they also attended Purdue University, where they pursued a degree in Computer Graphics Technology, specializing in 3D Animation and Modeling, Electronic Media, and Raster Imaging (Photoshop Manipulation). In addition to their degrees, Emma has obtained certifications such as the Contentful Certified Professional Exam from Contentful in March 2023, and the Professional Scrum Master I certification from Scrum.org in 2022.
