Cathy Wu has a diverse work experience spread across multiple industries. Cathy started their career as an intern at Shanghai Pudong Development Bank in 2011. Cathy then worked as a marketing assistant at Sensu Communications Inc., where they designed online marketing strategies and organized brand events. Cathy later joined Swarovski as a brand specialist.
In 2015, Cathy interned at Z-Ben Advisors, where they conducted research and analysis on various projects. Cathy also had a brief internship at Bain & Company as a consulting analyst, participating in market entry strategy and consumer insights analysis projects.
Cathy then worked at Accenture as a digital consulting analyst, providing consulting services in the finance sector. Cathy also worked at Unilever, first as a supervisor in data and digital development, and later as a data and digital marketing assistant manager. During their time at Unilever, they were involved in championing digital initiatives and building partnerships with external startup ecosystems.
Most recently, Cathy worked at L'Oréal as a digital manager, where they collaborated closely with project stakeholders and external partners to execute various projects. Cathy also won the innovation company prize for L'Oréal China in 2021. Currently, they hold the position of Head of International Tourism - Commercial Department at Xiaohongshu.
Cathy Wu has an Honours Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) degree in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Toronto, which they obtained from 2011 to 2015. Cathy also participated in an exchange program at The University of Hong Kong from 2012 to 2013. Currently, they are pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree at The University of Hong Kong and Fudan University, starting in 2022. Additionally, they have obtained certifications as a Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute and as a Product Strategy Consultant from Alibaba Group.
