Aurore Sibois

Senior Navigation Algorithms Engineer at Xona Space Systems

Aurore Sibois has extensive work experience in the field of aerospace engineering and navigation systems. Aurore is currently working as a Senior Navigation Algorithms Engineer at Xona Space Systems. Prior to this role, they spent many years at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, where they held various positions including Research Technologist, Visiting Student, and Visiting Independent Advisor. During their time at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, they focused on software development for GNSS precision orbit determination and conducted studies on the impact of GPS antenna calibrations on GPS constellation precise orbit determination.

Aurore also worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Colorado Boulder, where they specialized in statistical orbit determination, space geodesy, global navigation satellite systems, astrodynamics, and interplanetary mission design. Aurore'sPh.D. research focused on GPS-based sub-hourly polar motion estimates. Additionally, they served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, providing guidance on theoretical background and software packages for the Interplanetary Mission Design Class.

Prior to their time at the University of Colorado Boulder, Aurore gained valuable industry experience through internships. Aurore worked as an Intern - Assistant Engineer at Thales Alenia Space, analyzing and characterizing multipath errors affecting GPS measurements. Aurore also interned at EADS Telecom, where they studied and simulated the Specific Absorption Rate for professional mobile radio-communication devices.

Overall, Aurore Sibois has a strong background in navigation algorithms, GNSS precision orbit determination, and space geodesy, with a focus on applications in the aerospace industry.

Aurore Sibois began their education at LFI Pékin in Beijing, where they earned their Baccalaureat degree in scientific studies from 1996 to 2000. Following this, they attended Lycée Saint Louis from 2000 to 2002, where they pursued Classes Préparatoires aux Grandes Ecoles MPSI/MP* without mentioning a specific degree. Later, from 2002 to 2005, Aurore attended ESIEE PARIS and obtained an Engineer's degree in Telecommunications and Signal Processing. Continuing their education, they joined Chalmers University of Technology and completed their Master of Science (MSc) in Radio and Space Science from 2004 to 2005. Lastly, Aurore Sibois attended the University of Colorado Boulder from 2008 to 2011, earning a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, and Astronautical/Space Engineering.
