J. Eric Purcell

J. Eric Purcell has extensive experience in quality and manufacturing management. J. Eric is currently the Vice President of Quality at Xos Trucks. Prior to this, they worked as the Vice President of Global Quality at Lordstown Motors Corporation from August 2021 to February 2023. Before that, they held roles at Gibson Brands, Inc. as the Vice President of Global Quality and Product Engineering from April 2021 to August 2021, and as the Director of Global Quality from August 2019 to April 2021.

Earlier in their career, Purcell worked at Tesla, where they served as the Director of Manufacturing, Quality from June 2016 to August 2019. J. Eric also held the position of Director of Manufacturing for Body, Stamping, and Tool & Die from October 2013 to June 2016, and was the Body & Stamping Senior Manager from January 2013 to October 2013.

Prior to Tesla, Purcell worked at Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia as the Senior Manager - Weld Shop from October 2008 to January 2013, and at Nissan North America as the Manager - Body & Stamping Engineering from January 2005 to October 2008.

J. Eric started their career at AGC Automotive Americas as an Engineering Manager, where they contributed to the deployment of the company's first Tier 1 glass encapsulation business. Purcell also worked at Dura Automotive as a Senior Project Manager, establishing tooling requirements and maintaining budget summaries for program suppliers.

Before that, they held roles at GECOM Corporation as a Business Unit Quality Engineer, and at Sumitomo Electric Wiring Systems as a Production / Quality Engineer.

J. Eric Purcell earned their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Industrial Technology, Mechanical from Western Kentucky University. J. Eric attended the university from 1993 to 1998.
