Nico Van den Hooff

Nico Van den Hooff has a diverse work experience in the fields of technology and finance. Nico is currently working as a Machine Learning Engineer at Xtract One Technologies since July 2022. Prior to this, they worked at KPMG as a Senior Accountant / Consultant from January 2018 to January 2021. In this role, they led consulting engagements for various industries such as banking, wealth management, manufacturing, and real estate. Nico also managed the yearly financial statement audit of a major financial institution client and supervised a team of 10-15 individuals. Prior to KPMG, they worked as a Staff Accountant at Baker Tilly Canada from September 2015 to December 2017.

Nico Van den Hooff completed their education in a chronological manner. Nico first attended the British Columbia Institute of Technology from 2012 to 2015, where they obtained a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) degree in Accounting. Subsequently, from 2015 to 2017, they pursued the CPA Professional Education Program offered by the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada). This program enhanced their professional expertise in accounting.

In 2021, Nico Van den Hooff enrolled at The University of British Columbia to pursue a Master of Data Science degree, which they are expected to complete in 2022. This program focused on developing their skills and knowledge in the field of Data Science.

Nico Van den Hooff also obtained additional certifications to further enhance their qualifications. Nico completed the Deep Learning Specialization from Coursera in August 2021 and the Machine Learning course, also from Coursera, in June 2021. These certifications demonstrate their dedication to continuous learning and staying abreast of the latest developments in the field of Data Science.
