Nadaraj Palaniappan

Nadaraj Palaniappan is the current Director of Metabolic Engineering at Xylogenics. Nadaraj has over 15 years of experience in the field of metabolic engineering and has worked with some of the leading companies in the field, including Dow AgroSciences and Virginian Commonwealth University. Nadaraj's expertise lies in the identification, characterization, and genetic manipulation of natural product biosynthetic gene clusters from microorganisms. Nadaraj has also performed research on the generation of novel analogs of polyketides and aminocyclitol antibiotics from producing Streptomyces sp. by applying genetic engineering strategies, such as pathway engineering, precursor-directed biosynthesis, combinatorial biosynthesis, and heterelogous expression.

Nadaraj Palaniappan holds a Ph.D in Biotechnology from Osaka University, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Microbiology from Osaka University, and an M.Sc in Biochemistry from Universiti Malaya.

Their manager is Joshua W. Heyen, Director & President. They work with Kathryn Houin - VP, Operations, Ross Cocklin - Director, Systems Biology.
