Søren Christensen

Søren Christensen has over 30 years of work experience in various scientific roles. Søren is currently the Director of Protein Engineering at Y-mAbs Therapeutics, Inc., where they are responsible for establishing and running collaborations with CROs in antibody discovery, optimizing clinical candidates, and engineering novel antibody formats.

Prior to their current role, Søren worked at Lundbeck for 13 years as a Principal Scientist. In this position, they focused on antibody engineering and biophysics, including the discovery, engineering, expression, and characterization of antibodies. Søren also assessed the developability and manufacturability of monoclonal antibodies and designed and produced bispecific antibodies.

Before joining Lundbeck, Søren spent 8 years at the same company as a Protein Biochemist and Project Leader. Søren led projects in early discovery and provided support to development projects within CMC of biologics.

Earlier in their career, Søren worked as a Research Chemist at Novo Nordisk A/S, Duke University Medical Center, and the University of Aarhus, where they gained experience in enzyme characterization, purification, and structural characterization.

Søren also worked as a Master student at Carlsberg Research Center, where they contributed to research projects.

Søren Christensen has an extensive education history. Søren first pursued their undergraduate studies at Aurehøj Statsgymnasium from 1981 to 1983, where they earned their Studentereksamen degree with a focus on Mat/Fys (Mathematics/Physics). Following this, they attended Københavns Universitet - University of Copenhagen from 1983 to 1990, where they obtained their Master's degree in Biochemistry. Lastly, they continued their academic journey at Aarhus University from 1991 to 1994, where they successfully completed their PhD in Protein Chemistry.
