Matthew Barsalou has worked in various roles since 2013. Their first job was as a Substitute Teacher at Kelly Services in 2013. Matthew then worked as an English Teacher for Masa Israel Journey in 2014, followed by a role as a Birthright Coordinator & Engagement Associate at Berkeley Hillel in 2015. In 2016, Matthew held two roles simultaneously, as an Associate Regional Director at BBYO and a Camp Counselor at United Synagogue Youth. In 2020, they became an English Teacher at TALMA - תלמ"א. Most recently, they have been working as an Administrative Assistant at Just Right Bookkeeping & Consulting Services since 2019, and is currently also a Student & Community Manager at Y2Y Network, Inc.

Matthew Barsalou obtained a Bachelor's Degree in American Studies and English from Western Connecticut State University in 2013, with minors in Sociology and Philosophy. Matthew also obtained a Youth - Mental Health First Aid certification from the National Council for Behavioral Health in February 2018 and an Instructional Leader Fellowship from One World Network of Schools in April 2021.
