Karen Reese is currently the Chief Privacy Officer & VP, Privacy, Cybersecurity & Data Strategy at Yahoo!. Prior to their current role, Reese served as the Future of Privacy Forum, AOL Inc., Oath, Verizon Media, and Yahoo. Reese has also worked as an Associate at Venable LLP from September 2001 to October 2005. There, they were a member of multiple trial teams enforcing and defending the patent rights of entities in litigation arising under the Hatch-Waxman Act. In addition, Reese has experience in small litigation teams in federal and state court matters involving intellectual property rights, advertising and marketing, direct to consumer marketing, e-commerce, business torts, contracts, fraud, antitrust and regulatory defense and employment.
Karen Miller Reese has a J.D. with high honors from Syracuse University College of Law and a B.S., B.A. with high honors from James Madison University in Political Science, Psychology, and Criminal Justice.
