Dawn Curtis

Dawn Curtis has a diverse work experience spanning different industries and roles. Dawn is currently serving as the Director of User Experience at Yellow Pencil since December 2022. Prior to this, Dawn worked as an independent consultant, facilitator, writer, editor, and artist. Dawn also held management positions at the Government of the Northwest Territories, where they were responsible for strategy, planning, architecture, public affairs, and communications. Earlier in their career, Dawn worked as a Senior Communications Advisor at Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Canada and as a Content Architect at The Rockley Group, Incorporated. Dawn has previous experience with various companies as well.

Dawn Curtis holds a Specialized Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in French Translation, Professional and Technical Writing from Glendon Campus of York University. Dawn also has a Certificate in Yoga and Writing, Creativity from Jeffrey Davis, Yoga as Muse Facilitator Training. Additionally, they have completed various certifications including Results Map Methodology in Strategic Communications and Change Management from Ingenium Communications, Wildfire Information Officer Certificate in Crisis/Emergency/Disaster Management from Hinton Training Centre - Government of Alberta, Certificate in Public Participation from International Association of Public Participation (IAP2), and they have attended a Short Fiction Workshop at Sage Hill Writers Retreat.
