David Schatzkamer earned a Master of Arts degree in Mental Health Counseling from Brooklyn College from 2009 to 2011. David also obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Touro University, where they studied from 2003 to 2006. In 2012, they earned a Registered Play Therapist degree from the Family & Play Therapy Center, specializing in Play Therapy. Additionally, in 2014, they completed an Intensive Play Therapy Supervision program at the University of North Texas. In 2017, they pursued Advanced Filial Therapy at the Family Enhancement and Play Therapy Center. David holds a certification as a National Certified Counselor from the National Board of Certified Counselors, Inc., which they obtained in 2016.

At YES I Can, we secure DOE services for children that require special education. Our program operates out of your school’s resource room, providing trained professionals to eligible children, by way of remediating academic and social teachings; in both a classroom setting and a one on one basis. Using a unique approach of individualized methods of teaching, our therapists utilize researched methods within the mainstream classrooms. Respecting the capabilities of every student, our trained staff work along with your school to eventually enable intervention free schooling. It’s a process, yet we view it through the eyes of a child: slow and steady with lots of love. Parents at YES I Can always feel welcome and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
