Matt Freedman

Matt Freedman currently serves as the Chief Development Officer at The Y in Central Maryland, overseeing philanthropic activities for an $80 million service organization since July 2018. Prior experience includes roles such as Senior Vice President of Development at Securing America's Future Energy, where responsibilities encompassed resource development and fundraising from ultra-high net worth individuals and foundations. Previously, Freedman held several positions at The Jewish Federations of North America, focusing on national training and donor engagement, and worked at The Associated: Jewish Federation of Baltimore in various capacities, including Chief Strategy and Development Officer. An early career role as a Bittker Fellow at Hillel involved building a network of Jewish student leaders. Educational qualifications include a Master of Policy Sciences from the University of Maryland Baltimore County, a Master of Arts in Judaic Studies from Baltimore Hebrew University, and a Bachelor of Arts in History from Tufts University.
