Krista Werbeck

Krista Werbeck serves as the Senior Executive for Strategic Planning at The YMCA of Greater New York, where responsibilities include leading strategic initiatives across 24 branches to maximize community impact in New York City. Prior experience includes holding the position of Senior Executive Director for Planning & Innovation at the NYC Department of Education, managing educational reform and innovation efforts, and fulfilling roles such as Deputy Chief Operating Officer and Director of Policy & Operations within the same department. Krista also led resiliency planning efforts for Hurricane Sandy recovery as Director for the Special Initiative for Rebuilding and Resiliency in the Mayor's Office. Earlier career roles encompassed positions at the Department of Homeless Services and the Mayor's Office, where Krista focused on policy analysis and inter-agency coordination. Krista holds an MPA in Policy Analysis and Evaluation from Baruch College and a BA in Criminal Justice from the University of Maryland.
