Erika Johnston

Erika Johnston has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in the field of program management and recreation. Erika began their career in 2013 as a Sales Associate at Sports Authority before transitioning to roles such as Recreation Leader and Recreation Leader II in different city organizations.

In 2015, Erika joined the YMCA of the Rockies as a Family Program Intern, where they gained experience in planning and conducting programs for guests of all ages. Erika also took on responsibilities such as training new staff and assisting with administrative duties.

Erika continued their journey with the YMCA, moving to the YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties in 2019 as a Programs Director. Erika then progressed to the position of Senior Program Director in 2021, showcasing their ability to take on increasing levels of responsibility within the organization.

Currently, Erika works at the YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region as a Program and Operations Director, beginning in November 2022.

Erika Johnston completed their education at California State University, Long Beach from 2011 to 2017, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Parks, Recreation, and Leisure Studies. Prior to that, they attended California Academy of Math & Science from 2007 to 2011 and received a diploma. The field of study for their diploma is not specified.
