Fredrik Hietala

Fredrik Hietala began their work experience in 2011 as an Engine Man and Watchman at Viking Line, where they performed maintenance work, cleaning, and monitoring tasks. In 2012, they worked as a Substitute Engineer at Mariehamns stad. From 2013 to 2013, Fredrik worked as an Operator at Preem AB, monitoring processes and participating in equipment commissioning and de-commissioning. In 2014, they joined Academic Work as an Operator at Nynas AB, performing tasks such as load and discharge ships, pumping distillate, and blends with mixing plant and oxidations. Simultaneously, at Nynas AB, they also worked as an Operator, contributing to the operation of the distillation plant, surveillance, and sample-taking. From 2018 to 2022, Fredrik served as a System Developer at Helo, focusing on frontend development using JavaScript frameworks. Currently, they hold the position of Senior Frontend Developer at Yoin Technologies AB, starting in 2022.

Fredrik Hietala has a diverse education history. Fredrik started their academic journey by pursuing a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Mechanical Engineering at Åland University of Applied Sciences. Fredrik attended this university from 2007 to 2012.

Following their Bachelor's degree, Fredrik obtained several certifications in the maritime field. In 2008, they completed the Basic Safety Training program at the Finnish Maritime Administration. The following year, in 2009, Fredrik obtained the Watchkeeping Rating for engine from the same institution.

After gaining maritime certifications, Fredrik decided to further their education in a different field. From 2016 to 2018, they attended Medieinstitutet in Göteborg and earned a degree in Web development in e-commerce (YH).

In addition to their educational achievements, Fredrik also obtained the Watchkeeping Engineer certification from the Finnish Transport Safety Agency in November 2012.
