Matt Zymet

Vice President, Creative Production at YOOM

Matt Zymet has a diverse and extensive work experience in the media and technology industry. Matt currently holds the position of Vice President, Creative Production at YOOM since 2022.

Prior to this, from 2018 to 2020, Matt worked as the Senior Director, Content Innovation Lab at WWE. In this role, they managed all lab operations and led a team of producers in developing experimental and immersive storytelling content. Matt also pioneered a new documentary approach to WWE storytelling, featuring real-life stories of in-ring talent.

From 2016 to 2018, Matt served as the Executive Director, Immersive Media (AR/VR/360/LIVE) at National Geographic Partners. During this time, they built and led Nat Geo's first immersive media unit, establishing Nat Geo as a premium destination for cinematic VR content. Matt also implemented high-production value live-streaming and live 360-video events with A-list talent. Additionally, in a dual role, they continued to lead Nat Geo's TV Product & Content team, developing creative, editorial, and distribution strategies that garnered over 200 million views.

Matt's career at National Geographic Partners also included being the Director and later the Executive Director, TV Digital Product & Content. In these roles (2007-2017), they led an award-winning team in developing multi-platform digital content and product strategies for National Geographic Channel and Nat Geo WILD TV Networks. Matt oversaw all digital content development and production, as well as daily operations for web, mobile, and connected TV applications.

Before joining National Geographic Partners, Matt had roles at AOL (2001-2007) as a Programming Director for AOL Small Business, where they led digital content and editorial strategy. Matt also served as a Senior Producer for AOL Products, where they provided creative leadership for AOL's core products and led the establishment of AOL China Production Studio in Beijing.

Matt's career started in the late 90s, with roles at Discovery Inc as a Senior Digital Producer for TLC (The Learning Channel) from 1999 to 2001. Matt led TLC's digital content strategy and audience development, elevating the website to a destination with 2 million page views per month. Prior to Discovery, Matt was a Lead Producer at IDEV (1998-1999) and a Creative Producer at Zymersive (1996-1998). Matt also worked as a Senior Producer at Magnet Interactive (1995-1996).

Matt Zymet holds a BA degree in Film from Vassar College. Matt also completed the Interactive Telecommunications Program at Tisch School of the Arts, earning an MPS degree from New York University.
